Undergraduate Initial Teacher Training
Undergraduate ITTUndergraduate initial teacher training (ITT) courses such as the BEd, BA with qualified teacher status (QTS) and BSc with QTS allow trainees to study for a degree and complete their ITT at the same time.

Home students on a full-time undergraduate ITT course can apply for the same student loans and grants for tuition fees and maintenance as other students on their first higher education course. Tuition fee loanIf you are on a full-time undergraduate ITT course you will have to pay tuition fees for your course. Tuition fees vary depending on the course and the higher education institution (HEI). You should contact the HEI that runs the course you are interested in directly. View a complete list of higher education institutions offering ITT Home and EU students may be eligible for a student loan to cover the cost of tuition fees. You can apply for a student loan from your local authority (LA). You can calculate an estimate of your loan repayments by visiting the Directgov website and selecting 'Teacher' from the list of careers. Student loan for maintenanceHome students in England may also be eligible for a student maintenance loan to help towards accommodation and other living costs. This is available through Student Finance England. This grant will be means tested and you can apply through Student Finance England.
